"Lada" is a Russian Children's Folk Group based in the Washington DC metropolitan area. The ensemble was established in 2006 at the Metaphor School of Russian Language by the music director Galina Tarasova with the help and support of the school director Zhanna Buzov. There are 16 performers in the group, between the ages 6 to 12.  Children are accepted to the ensemble by audition only to maintain the high quality standards of music and dance performances.

At our classes children learn to sing with traditional 'chest' voice and combine singing with basic Russian folk dance movements. We incorporate elements of acting in our classes in order to achieve bright and inspiring shows. The ensemble regularly performs at different events in  the Washington DC area, including performances at the Embassy of Russian Federation, Russian Cultural Center, Embassy of Bangladesh, Embassy of France, Russian Bazar and multiple concerts at local retirement homes.

Our goal is to learn and preserve our culture and traditions, and to introduce the wider audiences in the United States to the beauty and vigor of Russian folk music.
